It is a very important historic village due to its position on the Shropshire/Welsh border and it is home to the ruins of a Norman castle, a Saxon church and a 14th century bridge. Today, Clun is a popular location for walkers and cyclists and has a couple of pubs and a fine selection of independent shops. Within short drives are a number of wonderful Shropshire towns including Bishops Castle and Knighton. The medieval town of Ludlow is just a half hours drive and is well known for its culinary heritage with a wide selection of renowned restaurants, tea rooms and independent food stores.
