A mecca for cyclists, the nearby village of Cragg Vale has some challenging rides but which are rewarded by captivating views at the top and the village of Luddenden is on the other side of the valley and is the location of Jerusalem Farm, a popular local nature reserve. The area is known as being a popular locatin for TV programmes such as Happy Valley, In Loving Memory and Last Tango in Halifax. The bustliing, bohemian town of Hebden Bridge is a short distance away with its vibrant selection of restaurants, bars, bistros, markets, an independent cinema, art galleries, and the picturesque Rochdale Canal. A scenic car ride over the moors takes you to the splendid Parsonage Museum which commemorates the famous Bronte family. The area is a must for steam railway enthusiasts who will enjoy the thriving Worth Valley Railway. Skipton is also an easy and scenic car ride away.
