Discover the wonderful Etel River conservation area in southern Morbihan, one of the hidden treasures of Brittany. This ria forms a small bay with islands, islets and little headlands, protected by a sandbar. Its diverse scenery and plentiful birdlife (ducks, herons, cormorants) can be admired from the 40km of coastal footpaths which run around the bay. At the centre of the river the island of Saint-Cado, linked to the mainland by a bridge, is an absolute 'must' ! Here on the Verdon peninsula, there are little beaches within 5 minutes' walk of the gite, great for swimming, building sand castles and relaxing ! The long beaches of Carnac and Erdeven are 15 minutes' drive, the dual-carriageway leading to other treasures in the region is 5 minutes, Auray is 15 minutes, Vannes and Lorient are 20 minutes.
