La Doccia: an ancient Tuscan mill brought back to life.
La Doccia was a water mill to grind wheat, which worked for centuries until 1916. A few years ago, the property was restored as a holiday residence and today hosts groups and families from around the world.
La Doccia is composed of two houses: house Mulino and house Granaio .
Casa Mulino is the oldest. It was the miller's house and housed the mill rooms. Today Mulino offers a kitchen, dining room and living room on the ground floor, two bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor, two bedrooms and a bathroom on the lower ground floor. From the bright rooms of the lower floor a window looks over the stream and the waterfall that run alongside the house.
Casa Granaio housed the wheat reserve and the agricultural tools. Today it offers on the ground floor a large kitchen, dining room and living room, and on the first floor two large bedrooms and a bathroom.
Casa Granaio is ideal to host a whole group, with a large table and a large kitchen area. Also outside there is a covered terrace where it is nice to spend evenings together!
