Description of
La Galesa This villa is unique. A large detached villa, built on an exclusive estate 9km outside Javea (Xabia in the local dialect) towards the Cabo de la Nao, and was designed by the owner. One of only five frontline properties here, there are only pine trees and the Mediterranean sea between you and a view of Ibiza. It is surrounded by wellkept mature gardens and maintained to a high standard internally and externally, as you would expect for a villa of this quality and location. The villa has been designed around an enclosed and totally private courtyard with blue and white Moorish tiles and a square central fountain. One bedroom overlooks the Mediterranean, and is reached from one end of the cloistered walk, the second opens directly onto the courtyard. The third bedroom faces West, and opens from an inside corridor and has two ensuite bathrooms. All bedrooms have Kingsize beds (not doubles), are ensuite, and have very large ceiling fans the house was designed to take account of the natural movement of air to keep the rooms cool but there is air-conditioning (charged extra upon meter usage). In the living room there is a large flat screen television and a DVD player. The kitchen is fully equipped with enough cookware and crockery to please the most enthusiastic cook. There is an electric eyelevel oven, gas hob, microwave/convection oven with grill, dishwasher, fridge/deepfreeze coffee makers etc.

Air-conditioning & warm-air heating - Units to bedrooms and living room, charged upon meter usage. The Panasonic units are very cost efficient to run.

You are spoilt for choice as to where to dine around the house; on the very large naja, in the deep blue sunken garden, under the 10 columned pergola on the terrace overlooking the sea, or at the huge circular black granite table in the dining room. The huge picture window in the drawing room looks out over the horizon swimming pool, and the sea. The many Moorish lanterns give the villa a very exotic quality, and at sundown the villa takes on a totally different mood. For your al fresco dining there is a large Weber gas barbecue.

Javea is made up of three distinct areas the Arenal (main beach) lined with restaurants. The Port, with its delightful pedestrianised area at the edge of the sea, again lined with restaurants, and behind both areas, up a hill, is the Old Town itself, with its fascinating maze of narrow winding streets and the taste of real Spain. There you will find the Old Market, and a rare fortified church which has no windows at all at street level. It too has its distinctive local restaurants and bars. The villa is full of surprises, and will delight those looking for the unusual, exotic yet practical.
