Description of
Tucked away in the delightful village of Hayfield, Derbyshire, is this wonderful first-floor apartment, Howard's Hideaway. Enjoying a superb location on the outskirts of the Peak District National Park, with plenty of walks and the local amenities right on your doorstep, Howard's Hideaway is a fantastic choice for couples or a family of four. Upon arrival, you will find roadside parking, and stairs leading up to your new abode. Step into the welcoming living/dining room, featuring exposed beams and stonework, where you can look forward to relaxing with loved ones on the plush seating in front of the large Smart TV. Move through to the kitchen, where you can conjure up your favourite dishes, ready to savour at the dining table for four over a bottle of wine. Continue through to the well-appointed bathroom, where you can wash away the day's adventures with a bath or shower, before retiring to one of two tastefully decorated double bedrooms to catch some well-deserved rest. Explore the village, where you can treat your loved ones to a meal at Colosseo and The Pack Horse, picnic in Hayfield Park, sample a sweet treat at Millies Tea Rooms, enjoy a leisurely stroll along the River Sett or through the Bluebell Wood Nature Reserve. Your new home-from-home is just moments away from Kinder Scout, where you can hike to the top to soak up the views from 2,000ft, wander along the renowned Jacob's Ladder, or embark up the nearby Lantern Pike for exceptional, sweeping country views. Continue onto Glossop, where you can test out your swing at the excellent golf club, cycle the Longdendale Trail, catch a live performance at the Partington Players Theatre, or visit Howard Park. Further afield, you'll find Buxton, home to the Buxton Opera House, Poole's Cavern, Solomon's Temple and the Buxton Museum & Art Gallery. All this and more awaits at Howard's Hideaway.
Hayfield, a charming village in the High Peaks, sits in a beautiful rural setting on the park's northwest border. This quiet town draws hikers thanks to its proximity to Kinder Scout. Families (and those who enjoy more gentle rambles) can be found heading west along the beautiful Sett Valley Trail towards New Mills, while serious walkers head east out of the village, up and over the green foothills to the russet expanse of the Kinder Plateau, Pennine Way, and Snake Path. A few miles away is Edale, which serves as a starting point for the Pennine Way. There are plenty of bars, cafes, and restaurants in the village to satisfy visitors. Castleton, home to the world-famous Peak District caverns, and the posh spa town of Buxton are also within easy driving distance.
