casavacanzekastalia: private holiday homes inside the “Athena Resort” Tourist Village (formerly Kastalia), partner of Alpitour Alpiclub, on the south coast of Ragusa, in eastern Sicily, between Scoglitti and Santa Croce Camerina.
The holiday home is rented as a residence formula (excluding food and drinks, bed and bathroom sets) and is equipped with all comforts to live well both in winter and summer.
The Athena Resort is a purely summer international tourist village, equipped with an Olympic-size swimming pool and a private beach of golden sand and many other services and activities that only an international village can offer. All activities usually start at the end of May and then finish at the end of September. In the period of non-activity (from October to May) there is no active service, no commercial recreational tourist hotel, closed swimming pool. You can always use the tennis courts and football fields, plus 2 areas with games for children during the day.
We are in one of the Val di Noto municipalities (included among the Italian UNESCO World Heritage List sites in 2002 for its splendid late Baroque cities, the eight Baroque cities of the valley: Caltagirone, Militello in Val di Catania, Catania, Modica, Noto, Palazzolo, Ragusa and Scicli).
We are also ideally located to visit the Greek city of Syracuse, Gela and Agrigento, Villa Romana del Casale in Piazza Armerina, to taste the cuisine and fresh local fish in Scoglitti (seaside village), the chocolate in Modica, to visit the places of Inspector Montalbano (Punta Secca km.14 La Casa), Donnafugata Castle just 8 km away, and Scoglitti seafront with several km of golden beaches where the fishermen dock at the marina every afternoon (Monday to Friday) and sell the catch of the day.

The Village is ideal for a relaxing holiday surrounded by nature (we are inside Aleppo Pine Nature Reserve) where winter never comes, to soak up the sun and visit the most beautiful places in Sicily.
The first inhabited center is about 4 km from the village. You need a car to get around.
From October to May, when the tourist village is closed, the houses are rented for short and long periods, even with monthly rentals. In addition to the rental price, there are always mandatory expenses to be paid on arrival on site €60 administrative costs, at the end of the stay electricity €0.70 per kwh, tourist tax, complete kit (bed set + bathroom set) per person €25. By reservation only, to be paid locally, portable mini wi-fi (consumption max 200 gb per stay) €3 per day.
Only from October to May, for bookings of less than 7 days there is a surcharge on the rate. Always ask before booking for a quote tailored to your needs. The average rate per day for booking periods of less than a week is €45 per day. From June to September (binding condition - reservations for different periods are not accepted) weekly or multiple week rentals with entry and exit on Saturday, the cost of the club cards must always be applied to the budgeted rates to be paid locally at the Tourist Village.
